Given the time we have had recently, some sort of response needed to be made. And this is mine. ....... Much of the early discussions and fears around covid was the R number, which describes the infection rate of the disease. R2 for example, means that one person would, on average, infect another 2 people. Those 2 people would, on average and in time, then infect 4 others and those 4, infect another 8. And so on (16, 32, 64, 128, 356). An R rate of 1 means numbers infected with the disease stays the same, and an R rate below 1 means the numbers are shrinking. The spread of infection is affected by how virulent a disease is and by the behaviour of the carriers. That is why we were told and encouraged to avoid meeting up with each other.
A teapot and teacups are quintessentially about sharing. On and under the teapot lid and around the cups are little covid motifs. The R number often came with decimal points, so there is 0.5 teacup and saucer. Rather annoyingly for the user, this doesn't sit too well, but seems appropriated to represent the mess we were in.
