A standard block of butter fits in our butter dish. The lid is robust and because the butter goes inside the pot, unlike the cloche style butter dish, it doesn’t tend to get all over the lid, which leaves a mess wherever the lid is set down. Practical and lovely! This one is partly unglazed on the outside, giving a nod to old country pottery, but which also gives a better grip when picking the dish up.
